- Change your perspective – What aspects of your situation are truly fixed, and which can you change?
- Ask Yourself the right questions – what is good in this situation? Or Are there ways to reshape your job in order to gain more control or to focus on the most fulfilling tasks? Or could you build some positive, supportive relationships to counteract the ones that drain you?
- Decrease exposure to job stressors – You’ll also need to target high-value activities and relationships that still trigger unhealthy stress.
- Seek out connections – Find coaches and mentors who can help you identify and activate positive relationships and learning opportunities
- Talk to people you trust – Involving a trusted loved one can help you feel supported and less alone. Friends, family members, and partners can help you brainstorm possible solutions.
- Take back control – prioritize, delegate, leave work at work.
- Set boundaries – learn to push the pause button. Push the pause button. Take a moment to walk through everything that will be required of you if you agree.
- Remember what makes you happy – create a list of the things that bring you joy. Make time for these activities every week, and keep this habit up even after you feel more like yourself.
